Coaching Certification Requirements

Welcome to Estacada Youth Football Coaching Program

Our coaching program is dedicated to developing young athletes through teamwork, discipline, and skill-building in a supportive environment.  To ensure a safe and productive experience,  all coaches are required to complete background checks, obtain First Aid and CPR Certifications, as well as USA Football coach training.

Expectations:

Coaches are expected to lead by example, promote sportsmanship, communicate effectively with players and parents, and commit to regular practices and game days.  We strive to create a positive atmosphere where every player can grow on and off the field.

Certification Requirements - These must be completed prior to August 4th, 2025

1. All Coaches: must be registered through the link on our home page.  Once you have registered, you will receive an email with a link to complete the background check.  Please do this as soon as possible to allow for processing.

2. All Head and Assistant Coaches: Must complete Level 1 USA Football Certification, or USA Football recertification.  Please note that the registrar will need a copy of the certification.  Please save and email the certificate to: estacadayouthfootball@gmail.com. Here is the link to USA Football:  https://www.usafootball.com/coach-certification

3. All Head and Assistant Coaches: Must have a current CPR & First Aid certification.  It must remain current through November 1, 2025.  This can be uploaded during your coach registration, or please email a copy to estacadayouthfootball@gmail.com before August 4th.

4. All Safety Coordinators: Must be CPR & First Aid Certified, as well as complete concussion training, and Safe Act Abuse Prevention Training.  Both trainings take approximately 30 minutes to complete.  Head coaches and assistants do not need to complete these trainings because they are already included in the USA Football certification.  Please email a copy of the CPR/First Aid and the concussion certificate to estacadayouthfootball@gmail.com.

2. A minimum of two certificate holding coaches are required to be on the field during practices and games at all times.

3.  If you have any questions regarding certifications, please reach out to Melanie

Head Coaches & Assistant Coaches

One of the essential functions of coaches  is to manage team communications with players and their families.  If you are a head coach or assistant, SportsEngine has created a Team Management Guide for Coaches and Team Managers to help you use our website and mobile app to efficiently and effectively communicate and manage your teams.  Once the coaching staff has been assigned a team, coaches and parents will have access to the schedule and team chat through the SportsEngine app.
